Dachau Memorial at the site of a former Nazi Concentration Camp nearby Munich is one of the best-known places of remembrance in Germany. It is a place of commemoration, learning and research. The “Protestant Church of Reconciliation” is located on the site, where visitors can commemorate or pray. A lot of international visitors as well as survivors and their families come. As a ASF volunteer you will be part of the international staff of the memorial and of the Church of Reconciliation. You convey the story of the place, assist workshops and guided tours or accompany visitors and groups.

Dachau Memorial and the Church of Reconciliation welcomes thousands of international visitors every year. The educational department and the youth meeting centre offer a varied program of workshops, guided tours and events. As a volunteer you are part of the team you support the visitors and education activities at the memorial.

Tasks of volunteers

  • Accompanying visitors and groups
  • Assisting in events and seminars at the Protestant Church of Reconciliation and in the Dachau Memorial
  • Co-operation in the project “Memory Book”
  • possibly participation in the International Youth Meeting Dachau.

You live in the town of Dachau, a suburb of the Bavarian metropole Munich.
