Against right extremism

Go vote! – For democracy and human dignity

2024 is a super election year. There will be European, state and local elections: Right-wing extremists are at risk of gaining votes at all these levels. ASF and the Bundesarbeitsgemeinschaft Kirche und Rechtsextremismus are therefore calling on people to go out and vote: to tackle our future instead of fleeing into a false past.

But simply ticking a box is not enough – it is about all of us working towards an open and united society on a daily basis. Because this country and this continent will only have a future if everyone can participate equally in their diversity.

So cast your vote for democracy and human dignity!

The elections are taking place in special times – we are all challenged by crises and concerns. But racism and hostility to democracy are not solutions to problems – they only make them worse.

We say clearly: voting for extreme right-wing parties means strengthening anti-democratic and inhuman forces. Forces for whom human rights and constitutions count for nothing, who want to exclude large sections of the population from social life and even expel them from the country.

Democracy thrives on debate and the discussion of opinions – but not on hatred and agitation.

We call on you to vote for

  • democracy and the rule of law
  • an open and united society
  • transparent and incorruptible parties
  • European and international cohesion

At European level, because we need responsible and solidary answers to the climate crisis, refugee movements and the effects of the war against Ukraine.

At state level, because right-wing extremists must not be allowed to influence school education, the state police or the appointment of judges.

At a municipal level, because democratic, neighborly and solidary coexistence is also needed in the future.

Talk about this with your family, acquaintances and friends: Democracy and human dignity must be protected in the voting booth.
