Democracies under pressure – taking a firm stand against the shift to the right
ARSP ANNUAL CONFERENCE
At the joint annual conference of ASF and the Federal Working Group on the Church and Right-wing Extremism, we are examining the consequences of the attacks on democracies and open societies, how developments in different countries are interconnected – and what we can do to defend democracy.
On the programme:
- Panel discussion “A shift to the right and fake news everywhere? Courageous and committed to democracy, solidarity and diversity” with Anastasia Tikhomirova, Max Schneller, Claudia Jetter and Susanne Brandes
- Workshops on topics including Turkish right-wing extremism, political persecution in Belarus, anti-Semitism, right-wing extremist youth groups, women in anti-feminist movements, as well as inspiring examples of commitment to democracy.
- City walk
- Music with Sebastian Krumbiegel
- Information stands and discussions with members, volunteers, the board and staff of ASF and the Federal Working Group on the Church and Right-wing Extremism, as well as partners from academia, politics, culture and civil society
