64 years of ASF in Israel, 60 years of diplomatic relations

The digital meeting offers an opportunity for exchange, reflection and networking – across generations, multilingual and with space for personal memories and new ideas. In addition to greetings and impulses, an interactive breakout phase is the focus of the program.

• Keynote speech with photo impressions of current activities of ASF and the Beit Ben Yehuda (Uriel Kashi)
• Thematic small groups on memories and projects (The allocation to the groups is based on the information in the registration form).

A central aim of our anniversary event is not only to look back together, but also to lay the foundations for new connections.

Especially in times of profound shock – after the Hamas attacks of 7 October 2023 with the hostages still not freed and the current war situation as well as in the midst of social polarization in both countries, it is all the more important that we remain in contact with all people in the country. With the Israel Network, ASF supports civil society initiatives that have stood by the victims of terror and war since October 7 and advocate for coexistence in the country

At the end of the program, we will also present various ways in which former volunteers, Israeli partners and companions can stay in touch with each other beyond the event.

These include, among others:

• the digital ASF salons,
• the ASF Israel newsletter,
• as well as participation in regional groups of former ASF volunteers.

A special outlook:
ASF is currently planning a joint trip to Israel for alumni in 2026. This should offer space for reunions, intergenerational exchange and an in-depth examination of current socio-political issues on site. Here too, we look forward to receiving initial feedback, ideas and interest from participants.
